Classic British Ceramicware

Specialists in the design and manufacture of classic British-made bathroom solutions, Imperial Bathrooms, reveal that when it comes to selecting the right throne in the bathroom, your choice of Ceramicware will set the bar in terms of style and comfort levels, so choose wisely…

James Stevenson, Creative Director at Imperial Bathrooms, says, “There is no doubt that a finely crafted WC made from high-quality clay and honed to perfection is going to boost comfort, which is why our collection of designs for the rest room are authentically made. Considering material, design, application and proportions of a WC will all help to define your bathroom, as well as provide a clear sense of period style.”

Imperial Bathrooms expansive range of ceramic WCs means that you can choose the aesthetic that works best for your particular scheme, and match it to the Imperial Bathrooms collection of your choice for a seamless effect. Whether you go for the grand dimensions of Radcliffe or time-honoured characteristics of Westminster, you are free to co-ordinate the look with matching brassware and accessories to add that extra layer of refinement and overall design continuity.

Each model of WC by Imperial Bathrooms helps to conjure feelings of the past, so to help you find the right style for you, the company has provided a simple guide to the different Imperial WCs available:

1. High-level | Low-level: Exude an air of opulence and distinction, by opting for a high-level cistern, which captures the look and feel of a bygone era in today’s bathroom. To enhance the look, opt for a wooden seat that depicts other furniture and accessories within the room. For an added flourish, you can even match the fixtures and fittings with your basin taps with finishes including Antique Gold, Polished Nickel and Chrome as standard. If you are working with a smaller bathroom but still want to achieve that traditional aesthetic, Imperial recommend a low level WC as this type of design will offer the same look but due to its size, be more practical in terms of space allowance and features a handle flush system.

2. Floor standing | Wall-hung: Offering two contrasting looks, the choice of either floor standing or wall-hung WCs is usually determined by your choice of basin and bath design. A floor standing WC will marry perfectly with a classic pedestal basin, however if you need give the illusion of more space, a wall-hung model is best. Offering a light and airy feel, a wall-hung WC will free up valuable floor space and add a more contemporary feel by removing the cistern from view.

3. Close-coupled | Back-to-wall: A close-coupled design, which brings the cistern and the pan closer together is designed to conceal the pipework, making it a space saving option that is right at home in both a traditional and modern bathroom. To accentuate its classic charm, it can be accessorised with a lever flush or in contrast, a modern push-button. A back-to-wall toilet is small and concise, installed directly onto the back wall to ensure all plumbing and waste pipes are hidden from view. The cistern can also be concealed by a back to wall unit or within the wall itself and you can also team a back-to-wall WC with a modern flush plate for a streamlined pared-back aesthetic.
