Thanks to continued growth, one of the UK’s leading FF&E manufacturers and supply specialists, Southerns Broadstock, has welcomed the first of two new universal machining centres, ordered to satisfy almost any drilling, routing and edge banding requirements for the foreseeable future.

This investment in these facilities represents the companies commitment to remaining agile in the industry as one of the UK’s premier FF&E providers. The production refinements these CNC machines offer will support Southerns as it develops its services and expands into fresh sectors.

The company considered it vital to bring manufacturing options in-house to ensure clients have access to a diverse product range. In this respect, CNC technology has become irreplaceable for Southerns Broadstock. It reviewed a series of manufacturers but felt the Morbidelli P200 CNC machining centre provided the best high-quality solution for its current and future requirements.

The team worked closely with Diego Piersanti of SCM to develop the most appropriate technical and economical solution. SCM’s Pro-Space solution proved beneficial when optimising space within the factory. The 18 tool holders installed directly on the machine will lead to reduced production run times. Process optimisation, precision machining, quality and a reliability guarantee with SCM were the deciding factors.

This machinery will be instrumental in achieving ambitions and growth as a business, with a view to exploring new markets.
