Gleeds wins place on £1.7 billion Crown Commercial Service framework

International property and construction consultancy Gleeds has been appointed to the Crown Commercial Service’s £1.7 billion Construction Professional Services (CPS) framework. The business was successful across three Lots - Built Environment and General Infrastructure, Urban Regeneration and Defence.

The CPS framework is the UK’s largest public sector system of its kind, replacing the Project Management and Full Design Team Services framework, on which Gleeds was also previously appointed. It was developed to support the Crown Commercial Service in offering public sector customers access to a compliant and effective procurement route for their property and construction projects. Those appointed will now be called upon to provide organisations with broad strategic advice and innovative solutions across a range of disciplines and functions.

The agreement will run for a four-year period, with schemes falling under the expanded scope of Lot 1 expected to include major multi-disciplinary programmes serving all public sector clients, while those under Lot 2 will cover social infrastructure, land development and projects for the leisure and tourism sectors. Lot 5 has been specifically designed to serve the complex needs of the Ministry of Defence and Defence Infrastructure Organisation.

Crown Commercial Service supports the public sector to achieve maximum commercial value when procuring common goods and services. In 2020/21, CCS helped the public sector to achieve commercial benefits equal to £2.04bn - supporting world-class public services that offer best value for taxpayers.

Commenting on Gleeds’ success, group executive director Douglas McCormick, said: “I am delighted that Gleeds has once again been selected across multiple lots on this high-profile framework. Our offering under Lot 1 has expanded in line with its new, broader scope and our appointment will allow us to continue to deliver innovative, efficient solutions which represent real value for money for a cross section of public sector clients. The CPS is widely considered to be the “gold standard” in public sector procurement for project management and design team services, so we are thrilled that our expertise and industry leading net zero carbon credentials have been recognised.”
