Rotpunkt, award-winning carbon-neutral manufacturer of ergonomic German kitchen furniture bring glamour to urban spaces with its range of modular furniture solutions, ideal for loft-style living, studio apartments and inner-city dwellings.

As the UK adjusts to life after lockdown and post-Brexit settlement, urban renewal is a key part of the picture with four landmark developments earmarked for completion in the capital by 2030. As a world city, the rental market is expected to increase by 122% over the next decade, with massive opportunities for the interior design and contract kitchens market.

Combining the new Slice Metal Line door and Wall-panelling System with latest accessories, this modular furniture concept by Rotpunkt has been paired with a twin-set of Floating Cubes, mounted side by side. By opting for its wall-mounted Cube, the company has created a dedicated space for built-in appliances without sacrificing essential storage and cabinet space in the main kitchen area.

Matt Phillips, Head of UK Operations at Rotpunkt says, “There is growing demand for flexible kitchen living spaces which are modern, versatile and aesthetically pleasing, and this comes at a time when the biggest build-to-rent construction projects are scheduled to start in the UK this year. With nearly one-third applying to housing specifically for the rental market, contract kitchens are predicted to experience an influx of enquiries over the coming months and our 2021 product mix of doors, cabinets, worktops, handles and accessories are designed to adapt and deliver on individual project briefs – affordably and with distinction.”

Flexibility and freedom therefore remain at the heart of contract kitchen design this year, with modular furniture becoming a powerful design tool in urban planning. Rotpunkt has noted that grey and white continue to offer a sophisticated palette for urbanites and the featured Snow XT finish not only provides a super matt look, it also ensures maximum durability with its anti-fingerprint and fade resistant surface: ideal in high-traffic rental properties with a regular turnover.

So what makes this modular kitchen concept by Rotpunkt so flexible in nature?

ENHANCED DURABILITY: The Slice Metal Line door in contemporary Carbon finish is a contrast in itself, combining a slim line profile with extreme hidden strengths. Designed with a 14mm thick high-quality fibre core, this door also features dynamic metal edging and a double-sided high pressured laminate finish meaning it’s linear in style yet strong in substance.

CUSTOM UTILITY: Making full-use of bare walls, this customisable wall-panelling system allows you to mix and match accessories upon 19mm thick wall panels. Available in all cabinet and door colours, each panel offers a 390mm space between the rails to ensure the design aspect naturally blends in with standard door sizes. Either opt for a single full height panel or personalised arrangement made-up of multiple panels and accessories include three shelving options, a tablet holder, foil dispenser, knife block and all-new industrial hooks, slim line storage caddy, kitchen roll dispenser and glassware holders seen pictured.

SPACE-SAVING: The Cube can be designed in either single, double or triple configuration, able to house up to 2 or 3 built-in appliances and arranged as desired. Designed with standard shelves, internal drawers and special storage options, the Cube can be wall-hung, deck mounted or between furniture and is automatically adapted to each appliance for a truly made-to-measure look and feel.
