Hedges Direct to donate 10% from all online orders to Cancer Research UK

As the UK charity fundraising campaign ‘Giving Tuesday’ approaches on December 1st, Hedges Direct will be going one step further this December. During December the UK specialist suppliers of hedging and garden plants will be donating 10% from every online order placed to Cancer Research UK, to support the charity after the overwhelmingly tough year it has faced.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, 2020 has seen Cancer Research UK suffer greatly, with its fundraising efforts, research, development and services all being vastly restricted:

• Nationwide lockdown has put a halt on lab research as facilities were closed
  

• Clinical trials have been paused as hospital capacity has been limited
  

• Research funds could be cut by £150 million per year due to reduced fundraising income

With the many set backs that Cancer Research UK has faced this year, Hedges Direct recognises the urgent need to help re-build the damage caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim of the financial contribution being made by Hedges Direct is to help aid the growth and development of affected research experiments and contribute to a fast recovery.
